Hello, I saw many tiny insects are on boxes in my warehouse. Many of them was live under boxing tape. I wonder how they went into between box tape and box. Can you identify this insects and how can I kill them? BTW, I tried to upload images here. However it dosen't upload. they look like beetles, there might be something inside the box and these beetles were living in there, and are now stuck in the tape.

Probably Flour Beetles (Tribolium sp.) - bugguide.net/node/view/89680Very common worldwide, and often found inside buildings where dry, stored foods are kept, including grains, cereals and pet foods.

There is nothing to eat in the boxes. So I wonder where they came from. BTW, Do they damage wood like termite, or spread disease? I can see many of them and worry if they make more babies. Can you let me know efficient way to kill them.
Thank you.

They can be a nuisance when they occur in large numbers, but are otherwise harmless. The box on which they were found trapped in packing tape seems the most likely source of the beetles, though it could also be that they originated from something else (such as another package that contained edible material), that was previously placed near the box. Are you certain that the box doesn't contain any dry food of any kind? These beetles can infest a wide range of dried foods, and can occasionally get into them even before they are sealed in packaging at factories.

Exactly! like the mystery moths that showed up in my dried shiitake mushrooms. I thought the original packing looked a little dubious. How many caterpillars did we stir fry before I noticed my storage jar was full of moths.. I suppose I could have kept a specimen.
