Hey, I'm just saying!
BTW the company was advertised for sale in LepSoc recently.
The matriarch, Louise, I found to be charming. Jerry- who's retired now for a few years, was a nice guy, and loved stick insects. Last I knew- and that was 20 years ago- the kids were running it. They have to be pushing into their 50s now.

I was sorta joking, but sorta not. Bioquip is pretty expensive for a lot of items. I buy from them selectively and infrequently. I wonder if they ever double the price of something and then offer a 40% “sale” to lure unsuspecting customers… As for shipping cost, that’s not within their control, even if ridiculously expensive.

Not for nothing, all prices are up. Way up. Where I live gas is up 30%, beef 40%, steel 200%, etc. Logistics costs (shipping) is up, and nobody wants to work. So I can't say a 10% increase in prices is out of line.

Try running a business and see how long you can maintain a price structure. I thought pork was up more than beef- try buying bacon, and I can't find any drinkable chocolate milk. Forget going to the lumber yard, and I live in Oregon.

Actually it is within their control, they can throw extra dollar on top of real cost. The same envelope with pins costs $7 for shipping from Europe, do you think US post charge from California $50? BTW after complaining about high cost of shipping they dropped the cost to $22.00 and I cancelled the order. I want to add that this was 10 years ago when everything was much much cheaper

I am not sure how they calculate shipping. Is it not automatically done and reflects the at cost price? I thought that’s how it worked for most online businesses?
