$15,000 of pineapples at Mississippi port destroyed because of rare stowaway butterfly larvae - Larvae for the Saunders 1850 butterfly was discovered on Sept. 2, 2021, on a Dole shipment of pineapples from Costa Rica to Gulfport. someone in usda was capable of determining the species based on the caterpillar ?? if so I'm impressed.

Keep in mind, that many of the people who you think of as working for the Smithsonian, really work for USDA. john
