Over Memorial Day weekend I collected a Catocala species that I haven't seen since I was a kid: C. texanae. It flew right into the lake house we were renting. Also got another Catocala species that I haven't yet identified, along with the usual C. ilia. Found a bunch of Calligrapha scalaris (beetles) at a nearby central TX location. They were everywhere. A couple of days ago I got my first Dynastes tityus of the season, a minor male, in E. TX. Hoping to catch some bigger ones soon.

Sounds like you're collecting season has kicked off pretty nice !
Would love to see a picture of that Catocala species.

Thank you for the reminder !
Will look later this evening when I get home from my job; as I have neglected to check my emails these last few days due to a busy work environment.
