I’m about to start a new lease on an apartment but I found a bug in one of the drawers. I have spent the last hour or so scouring the web to try and identify it BUT to no avail. Do you guys have any ideas? I’m in Los Angeles and it was found in a kitchen draw dead. It is a bit smaller than a dime. It has long feelers, maybe four of them. The body was oval shape. It was yellowish brown. I could see two legs popping out the back and two claw like hands out the front. The backs of the bug also had ridges. Below is a link to a photo of the bug. ibb.co/wLQQkTFShould I be worried about signing the lease? Thanks!!

It's a silverfish. They like moisture. They eat from open food containers (flour, dog food).
They are not a pest, unlike cockroaches or bed bugs. They don't harm humans.
There might be moisture related problems or not. We can't tell.

Wow, thank you! I really appreciate it. Is that a bug where if there is one, there are many? Or could this just be a singular occurrence? Thanks again!

Don't know. I have seen them before. Usually, single ones in bathrooms.

There are probably more. I'm familiar with them from removing old shingles on roofs, usually wood roofs, and there would always be several or more that would scatter. If that one is dead, who knows for sure, though. Maybe someone used a bug bomb, or it's been there waiting to be noticed. Everyone has different methods of household cleaning, and even then, for our insect friends, it's their job to find somewhere to hang out.
