Wonderful species, never thought as a youngster that I would be able to afford one but I've managed to pick up half a dozen on my travels, mainly at insect fairs here in England and at reasonable cost too.
The beauty about insect fairs as opposed to Internet buying, if you are lucky enough to be able to attend them, is that rarities are much more affordable and you can see exactly what you are buying. I tend to put a little away each month so that come fair time I can pretty much buy what I want. Added to that is the fact that there are not so many serious collectors in the UK now so not much competition for the best stuff. I once chanced on a box full of cethosia nietneri, males and females for £30,200 people must have seen them before me and either didn't know what they were or weren't interested and I could name countless instances when this has happened, Kallima jacksoni, cirrochroa imperatrix, cethosia lechenaulti, hypolimnas dimona, Aeropetes tulbaghia. I've been in the right place at the right time quite a lot.
