I hope this finds you well in these trying times. I would like to make an offer for anyone willing to satisfy it. I have been searching for one pair of halloween pennant dragonfly for a long time and because this species is out of my range, I cannot collect any.
If you are willing to catch a pair for me and ship them to Canada, you can name a price and I will do my best to fulfill it. In either case, I'll see to it that you be fairly compensated. Please reach out if you have the specimens or know where to source it. Thank you for reading my post!
Hello Charles (bigding), I think that I have the species which you long for. That is --- at least they belong to that genus. I provide you with a picture of my two specimens below.
These two are "field pinned"; meaning they have not necessarily been spread on a board. Just a pin in them... Both specimens were collected by me on July.06.2002 / Illinois / Union Co. (far southern Illinois)/ Net sweep in clover field.
They are perfect! All legs present and even both antennae. Wings un-damaged as seen in the photo ! Also, body color is pretty good generally (although with my lighting its hard to convey). I think these are both males.
Anyway, I have had them pinned in a field box all these years as other specimens have just taken precedence. Nifty species though !
My counter-offer is that I want nothing monetarily for them. They can be yours if you want them ! Just PM me (trehopr1) with your address and I will send them along for free. I cannot imagine shipping costing that much but, if its a tad too much I will let you know...
This is my way of spreading the "passion" of the hobby and of passing along something that someone else really treasures...
Thank you very much for your speedy replies. I really appreciate trehopr1's generous token. exoticimports I appreciate your recommendations as well, and perhaps, I'll see for myself if there is any to catch in the coming year if I do make a trip in the summer. Also, if you happen to have any Rhyothemis on hand, I'll pay you handsomely for some specimens.
