I would be interested to know what any birdwing enthusiasts think of the book. It does look to have spectacular photography but, the text is in Japanese. The range maps are probably good. I'm sure its a book of limited copies; hence the price and great condition of the book.
However, because it is not in english it really has limited use. Not meaning to sound critical but, is this just a fancy "coffee-table" book with a hefty price due to limited production and age ?
Could buy a lotta drawers or get some decent goods at an insect fair with that kind of "wampum" !
