I have done everything in my power to bring this "circle of conflict" to an end... including trying to return his defective items at my own expense. What has Koehn done to try to bring this "travesty" to and end?? ANSWER...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
How do you negotiate with a man who on this very thread, at 8:28pm, on 15 July (just 2 days ago), posted this, "Just keep it all. I do not want it back. I will no longer respond to your emails & posts. And if you send anything back I will refuse it & the USPS will ship it back to you."??
It is completely obvious Koehn has NEVER had any intentions to refund my money...EVER... This is more than a simple commerce problem. Koehn has slandered me personally, online, by calling me out as a THIEF, with ZERO evidence of any criminal wrongdoing on my part. If he is truly the bigger man he would immediately refund my money & issue me a personal apology right here on this forum. Of course...this will never happen. I'm at a complete deadend/deadlock... as Trehopr1 said, you can't move a mountain.

I wrote "Return to sender for Refund".
From my point of view... I'm a Canadian, in a neibouring/foreign country, returning defective items to an American in the U.S.... why would I want the defective items returned to me... for Refund?? If the USPS/Koehn/yourself misinterperated my message so be it. L.K. also had it within his power to reroute the package (as you instructed him). This is, at this point, a completely irrelevant issue. By Koehn's own words quoted above it is readily apparent that if even if I would be stupid enough to resend the package back to him a 2nd time (with Return to L.C. Koehn for Refund written on it), again at my own expense.. he will yet again reject it. Again he has never EVER had any intentions to refund my money.

I am willing to go "out on a limb" here to see resolution to this matter. If Leroy is willing to send me his cashiers check (via mail) and made out properly to you John I will immediately forward the envelope on to you at your address. I will place it in a larger envelope from my home address and then on to your address. When I receive Leroy's envelope I will photograph it and message the photo to your phone or email (just so you know I positively received it). Monetarily speaking this should end the matter.
Of coarse, you really don't need me here but, maybe Leroy just prefers the use of cashier checks (for returns) or maybe wants no personal (direct) contact (via paypal or mail-mail) with you John.
Either way, it sounds like he is willing to re-pay your full refund but, wants to go thru an intermediary. Leroy's envelope goes from (Ohio) to (Illinois) and on up to (Canada). He has indicated he does not want the lights back so those are now a dead issue...
If this sounds fine to both of you I will PM my address to each of you. I should get Leroy's envelope within a couple days of his sending and I will forward it the very next day. Don't know what else to say at this point. Just trying to be helpful in some small way.
I suppose one caveat about this deal should be that once the check is received and hopefully (with the proper numbers) than nothing more will be said here on the forum of this matter. He has mentioned that even if he pays up he expects 3 more messages about him. So, we wouldn't want him to be right about that...

My sincerest THANKS for your generous offer to act as a new financial intermediary. Sounds like a fair & equitable solution to me... I will certainly agree with it.. what other choice/option do I really have? I also thought L.K. was finally willing to repay me fully through Chuck, but backed off yet again... I was, again, so very disappointed.
To be absolutely clear Leroy owes me $314.95 USD (=$427.80 CAD according to xe.com site right now; 1 USD = $1.35830 CAD). I will ONLY, as the falsely accused, allow this entire absurd thread to be deleted, by Leroy, after I have the full amount safely in hand. Whatever form the money comes in... (no money orders... a nightmare to cash up here), it must be easily cashable in CANADA... in either USD or CAD funds... Leroy's choice.
This whole snail mail process may take several weeks/month but I have been waiting a long time for this so it doesn't really matter anymore to me... I want this matter to be finally over as quickly as possible... we all have much better things to do than bash each other over the head over a silly collecting light! Again THANK YOU Trehopr1.

Leroy, no offense but you have already twice posted here on the forum that John can keep the lights and that you don't want them back. Now you want them back and you will reimburse him the $77 however, to send them back to you I believe it will cost him another $77. Even if I have this shipping (cost) part wrong somehow, your two previous remarks about telling him to just keep the lights indicated to me the lights are a dead issue.
Also, I would point out that exoticimports in his last post clearly indicated he had no further interest in dabbling in this issue; which is why I stepped forward to broker a reasonable settlement.
It is clear to me you are not interested (in myself) getting involved in this matter as you have mentioned exoticimports involvement for a second time.
I am sorry that I could not help in brokering a deal that would work for both of the involved parties so, at this point I will make no further transgressions into this "prickly" matter...

I just couldn't resist winding up Jan and poking him with a logic stick. His 'facts' according to his previous posts don't agree with his current ones. Scientists will giggle at our (i.e. all of us) ignorance in the future. Hopefully, they will be more mature and not denigrate others.
Start another thread Jan if you would like to continue this.....mutating cavalcade of assumptive realities and faiths. It would be a long thread because the definitions of the English words you use are in-congruent with the thoughts you intend to convey. I did not mean this fact to be taken negatively but it most assuredly will be if history is an indicator.
Now back to the issue of the thread.......
Get an attorney or file a small claims court issue and be done with it. I do not see any other realistic end. I will follow the thread though to see if new thoughts or data appear and offer help where I can.

If you think I've sided or support your side you are incorrect. This is anecdotally drawn from personal experience which has taken me to retirement at the age of 50..... I've run small businesses, a multi million dollar business, and even managed in county/federal government. When a conversation gets to name calling, it is over. Customers or business owners who - name call, assign blame, etc, are indicating there is no more left to do. So am I saying the old adage 'you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar?' Yes. However, a lot more flies will show up when feces are involved. But the customer is always right! Old cliche. I know this because a customer told me another customer was wrong. Who was right? Neither. Comedy (variously) brings many terse situations to a close. I hired a man who was a special forces type who experienced the Viet Nam conflict. I said something to him (loudly) like 'Do your job. Don't sit around.' He stood up, walked over to me and towered over me. He said in a quiet voice that was pretty frightening "Are you absolutely sure you want to talk to me like that?" I looked this giant in the eyes and said "Brother, I hope Special Forces taught you how to swim really well because I.....will..... drown.... you... in my blood." I never heard such a genuine laugh. |

Judging not by opinions but by definitions of the words used would be better than the simplistic ‘so and so agrees’ argument that you oft use. For an AWFUL long time we as a community have put up with MANY completely inappropriate postings from a singular rogue member. I personally complained to both Clark and Olivier about his behavior and his complete mockery of decency. And yet, he still remained and if anything; he only "flaunted" his DEGENERATE thoughts more (even expanding on the lousy and tasteless subject matter).
He seemed to think his precious yearly "donation" gave him "carte blanche" to say whatever feeble denigrating thoughts came to mind (all too often)... I REALLY don't miss him.
Was there some measure of science, knowledge, and experience there in all those thousand plus posts? Of coarse, there was and for what it is worth that WAS WORTH READING and LEARNING something from. But, all the rest (like 70%) was simply uncalled for HOT noxious AIR...
I REALLY don't miss him.

Very well put Trehopr! You & I & many other "silent majority" members (who are afraid to get involved...) feel this way! I wanted the moderators to banish this "rogue"from this site a while ago. He is giving all of us a bad name... even this website.
Funny/odd how this questionable businessman said he was leaving Insectnet.com as of 06 July?.Really?He wad still here yesterday. His tearful reason for leaving... all of the friends he thought he had on this site never supported him in his false THIEF allegations!
I was also accused, by this "rogue", of wanting to be in the "spotlight"... I have just over 300 (all insect related) posts... he has almost 2,000. He might be the most prolific poster ever on this site! A good percentage, as you said Trehopr1, are complete garbage that should be posted on a lonely hearts/sex site. I think these forums are, sadly, his only social outlet.

If the administrators did indeed remove inappropriate words, slogans, and Riff Raff comments from all of Leptraps sorted posts he might be lucky to have 300 legitimate posts on insect related topics.
You're right Miguel, we don't have to read his inconsiderate slandering rhetoric.
Unfortunately, when one goes on an insect forum and notices that someone has posted a reply or a thread you expect it will be about the topic at hand; and not go off on some absurd tangent which the author finds personally amusing...

The simple facts of this whole sorry mess are this, Leroy lit a bomb, it blew spectacularly up in his face, he has since thrashed about trying to come out of it with some dignity but has only succeeded in digging an even deeper hole. To conclude, man orders goods, goods are defective, man returns defective goods seller gives refund or in practice this is how it should end.
