In a separate section jshuey mentioned his specialty is tropical skippers. A number of years back I was collecting plants in Ecuador and ran into some Cuban collectors who were using red foil covered small boxes set along a stream to lure in skippers. It was working; they kept buzzing the boxes. I have seen bright blue pieces of cloth tied to poles for high flying morphos but never the red boxes. Anyone ever use color to attract

Here in SE Asia red cloth attracts Papilionidae flying past, and is often used for birdwings. Some Japanese collectors use a red net bag on a long pole. Also apparently Teinopalpus are similarly attracted, but to a bright green net bag. I guess that only works for males.
