Yes, new to our neighborhood this year is The Horror Bird.
It is truly awful. He repeats musical notes DA-DA-DA (that's musical note D followed by note A, then repeat twice).
He is so loud that his call echos off the forest, making a terrible tinny din- it sounds like someone running a metal spatula around the inside of a metal pot.
I've never seen him. He typically sits high in trees, but not out in the open, like a decent bird wanting a pellet. But I can hear him. I can hear him from every room in the house.
I hate The Horror Bird.

I was sorting light traps today and I pitch the unwanted specimens a short distance from a picnic table that I use. I set out Light Traps twice, sometimes three nights a week. I have used this location since I relocated to Aurora, Ohio in 2019.
As soon as I return to my car with the trap, you can hear and see the birds. I throw the unwanted specimens just a few feet from the table as I sort the traps. The birds come within a few feet of me. To little warblers come within arms reach. A Chipmunk started coming last week. They will not touch an Arctidae moths. They will not eat the June Beetles. It is rather humorous to watch a couple of small sparrows take on a good size sphinx moth.

Yeah the blue jay and the female cardinal got into it today over the bugs. I was shocked that the blue jay backed off and left. I’m also surprised the blue jay hasn’t told his flock about this easy pickings. The wrens brought another pair with them today. Stormy tonight so no lights, they’re going to be disappointed tomorrow
