What has happened to Adam Cotton?
This Corona Virus has me isolated to my home. I go out to check my traps but I never encounter other humans. I see birds, deer and an occasional squirrel.
I do not know what made me start, I am reading James A. Mitcheners, The Tell. Next up, Bruce Canton's, "The Civil War".

I guess nothing? You can just click on a username and see when they were last online. Adam was last online 3h ago...
Thailand has some problems with the corona virus, but they are not so big right now. They were handling it really well, only the last few days their infections went up a lot. Nevertheless, I do wonder how the situation is in Chiang Mai, as it is full of Westerns dropouts that have no health insurance and little savings and are living a hippie like style of life.
I am a bit disappointed how the US is handling the situation lately. There was no tests available, not even when you want to pay for one. Restaurants are closed, but it seems like other things (work related conferences) are still being held. Florida only closed their beaches when spring break was virtually over. The virus seems to be OK in any type of weather. It is found from California, to Seattle, to New York, to Texas.

Leroy,
Thanks for your concern, I am here! Hopefully I will stay healthy, but I do have to go out shopping occasionally. I take precautions when I go to the supermarket such as using alcohol gel on my hands and the trolley handle. They take everyone's temperature on the door, and if you have a temperature over 37.5C they will not let you in.
The number of infections has risen in Thailand the past couple of weeks, and precautions are being taken. It is currently 'summer' holidays for local schools until May, and all international schools were ordered to be closed last week. My son is now having online lessons arranged by his school. Many cities are being shut down, except essential services. From today all restaurants in Chiang Mai can only offer take away sales, malls and many shops are shut but groceries, supermarkets, banks and petrol stations are still open.
Stay safe everyone, and practice social distancing, follow the recommendations and don't go out unless necessary.
Adam.

It amazes me how Thailand in the last couple of decades developed and reached level in many cases higher than other supposedly leading countries. Here in Canada for example no one takes temperature at the stores or shopping malls if you are sick you can easily transmit virus to many people. Paul

Mr. Cotton:
I am glad you are alive and healthy. I am basically home bound. Working on my collection, mounting specimens and taking some very nice naps.
I am also reading: Morrison's,The War in the Pacific.
I just finished Jame A. Mitcheners, The Tell.
I was thinking about reading Tolkien's, Lord of the Rings, again. I thought the movie was poor. It left out a lot. Especially Tom Bombadill.

We will have a 'state of emergency' from midnight tonight local time (GMT+7) for one month, but as yet no restrictions have been announced at the local level. Currently people are not being allowed to move between provinces without good reason, and they will be quarantined if they do. Schools and shopping malls have already been closed as I mentioned above. I guess it is likely there will be a night time curfew. Now is a good time to do many things at home like leptraps. Please everyone stay safe and keep a 2 metre distance from other people. Social isolation slows the spread of the disease, and can bring it under control relatively quickly. Adam.
