A few species are starting to appear in my backyard black light trap here in Washington. Proserpinus lucidus has been around for a couple of weeks, and has been flying in temperatures as low as 5C, but this week Xylena brucei, Lithophane pertorrida, L.georgii, Egira hiemalis and Homoglaea carbonaria all put in first of the season appearances.

You are lucky. Here in northeast Ohio, we have 6+ inches of snow on the ground, temps in the low teens, but a warm up coming next week. I have not seen a live moth in a couple weeks.

Does anyone out there have any spare ova of any of the US species of Lycia? Happy to purchase, or exchange for overwintering Hyalophora euryalus, A. polyphemus, or Pachysphinx occidentalis (WA stocks).
