Because i read one article where they said that the photography was take with a Canon EOS 40D and the photography was very sharp, like this: 2. Somebody know how to kill beetles whit ethyl acetate for no pain? Submerge insects or gas chamber? 3. I found this beetles in a cave, both have the same morphology except that one is depigmented and very soft body, but i dont know if both are the same species, and depigmented one is just after pupal chamber and the other is an adult but mature. Thank you for your help and excuse my english.

Insects feel no pain. They have different nerve system than mammals. So any method is good as long as it doesn’t damage the specimen. Also insects are not aware of their existence, they are preprogrammed organisms.

From what I understand about some, or maybe all beetles, is that they can change colors depending on age and humidity. Dispatching- Insects may not feel pain, but most of us do try to dispatch animals effectively and without stress, I find that freezing works well, they just go to sleep...for good. Any more with the chemicals we used to be able to purchase easily being subject to more regulations, dispatching does become an issue, I either freeze them, or use a jar with some solvent based liquid soaked in a napkin so the insect doesn't come into actual contact with the liquid. I used to be able to buy cyanide through the mail, try that nowadays.

I prefer Potassium Cyanide. Works quickly.
The major problem for amateur Entomologist is the avalability of effective killing agents. Ethyl Acetate is a liquid. Extremely flamable, melts plastic, like automobile seats and can make you some very bad words.
Vapona is effective but very slow. Personally, when collecting butterflies, I normally pinch and paper (glassine rectangle envelopes). I carry two small jars with Cyanide and a dump jar of the same. I have used this process for most of my adult life.
I used Carbon tetrachloride as a boy/teenager.Carbon tetrachloride was avalible for years as a "Spot Remover". However, Carbon tetrachloride was considered a cancer causing carcinogen and was banded for consumer sales.
I do not have an answer. There is someone who participates on insectnet who "broke wind" in Camden Yards a couple of years ago and just about emptied the stadium. If you could put that in a jar, I am sure it would work!
In today's world, stupid people are the cause for which many things are banned or prohibited for sale to the public.
If Trump was a Entomologist, the politicians would ban bubble gum!!! Where is Alfred E. Neumann when you need him the most!
