The winter was slowly progressing to spring, then abruptly back to winter with 4 inches of sloppy snow. Today it is just plain cold.
I currently have six Bait Traps Slotted Pan Type set out. I will be departing Aurora for the Grand River WMA to set out four more.
As for winter/cold weather moths, I collected eleven (11) species of Lithophane, four (4) species of Eupsilia, along with several species of Metaxaglae, Seraglea, Morrisonia, Acronicta and numerous species of Zale and Apamea.
The weather was rather uncooperative for Light Traps. I only had two (2) good night's. I woke up Thursday morning to three inches of snow. A warm up is due next week??
As for butterflies, I have taken two (2) Nymphalis antiopa (Morning Cloaks) both females, several Polygonia's, all of which I let fly.
It could be worse.

I began to remove specimens from spreading boards over the weekend. Three specimens that I thought were Lithophane hemina were not. They matched nothing in my collection. I went back to MPG and found it: Lithophane franclemonti (9888.1)
After my move back to northeast Ohio, I began to realize that I knew very little about the moths of northeast Ohio. And for that matter I began to think about improving my Slotted Pan design when that lightbulb comes on in the back of my mind. I can already hear my seamstress up in Watseka, Illinois: "what the F__k!!".....
More Later..........

Only had a couple warm nights so far in April, a couple weeks ago now. Eupsilia morrisoni has been pretty common. Also some Lithophane bethunei. A few singletons of which the best was Megalographa biloba. Not sure about these two. Perhaps this is a Metaxaglaea?

Not good photographs. To much glare. Get them on a sky blue or flat white back ground.
