All of you have seen me, or at least most of you have. I am a rather handsome gentleman, with stunning good looks and all of my charm. You have seen my portrait for years here on Insectnet.
So, is there any resemblance between that Big hairy Big Foot fella and me?
I was up and at them this early AM to check my Bait Traps in the Mantua Wetlands prior to the incoming cold front. Over night lows tonight near freezing. I dressed appropriately for the weather. Black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket.
I arrived at my last Bait Trap. I pulled up an access road to a gas well. I drove up the access road about 50' feet. The Bait Trap was about 500 feet from my car. I collected about 25 moths. As I was cleaning out the trap and getting ready to add water, I heard a vehicle coming down the road and stop. I zipped up the trap, pulled it up into the tree about 15 feet off the ground and tied it down and headed back for my car. As I came out of the woods and walking down a two track road to my car I saw a PORTAGE COUNTY Sheriff deputy checking out my car. After a brief explanation of my activities he seemed releaved. He said there had been some Big Foot Sightings. Then he looked at me and smiled, and said, "by a couple of our local drunks.
I would wager some serious coin he pulls up into the two track road and takes a nap.
I also had a nice encounter with an Eagle near the head waters of the Cuyahoga River. I have seen Eagles in the area before. This one was about 50 feet away from me.
Another sign of winter, a gust of wind made the forest rattle.
