I have just received a copy of the 3rd volume in the Butterfly Fauna of Taiwan series of books, kindly sent to me by Prof. Hsu. These are really excellent tomes, each thick volume covering one family of butterflies in Taiwan and associated islands. All text is in both Chinese and English, with detailed treatment of all taxa including colour plates of adults and genitalia of both sexes. The text includes lists of specimens examined with full data included, descriptions of adults and genitalia, distribution, biology, host plants etc.
These really are excellent works, despite the occasional error (which can always creep into any work), and I highly recommend them to everyone interested in Asian butterflies, not only specifically those of Taiwan.
