Hi friends,
My plan to retire as a webmaster is finally coming true. The domain insectnet.com has been sold to a new owner, Olivier in Italy. Olivier is a long-time member of this forum and has over 1,700 posts here as User 'wollastoni'. You may also know him as the proprietor of the famous www.collector-secret.com web site with all those fabulous eBay links.
Olivier and I have have been working diligently behind the scenes for the last several months to make this a 'seamless' transfer of ownership - so that there is no interruption of service for the users and advertisers who depend on InsectNet to conduct their business. This is not an easy task but we are nearing a successful completion.
After I post this last message as your Forum administrator I will initiate the process of transferring the Proboards ownership and administration of this Forum to Olivier. During this transition there may be a slight interruption of the file storage system which will affect the ability of Forum users to attach files to messages or expand existing attachment thumbnails. These abilities should be restored in a few days after the new admin takes over the fees associated with file storage. You can still 'embed' images in your posts if the image exists somewhere on the web.
ATTENTION ADVERTISERS: As of January 15, 2018 your banner ads have been seamlessly transferred to the new owner's ad serving system and are currently showing on InsectNet.com web site as before - except that the ads are served under the new owner's Adspeed account, not mine. As such all your click stats will start over from zero. Your old advertiser account with me will be ending today and I will be refunding you the unused balance of your subscription. The new owner will be contacting you to set up a new advertiser account under a new system if you want to continue. In the meantime the new owner is thankfully continuing to display your ad until these details are worked out. If you have any questions about this please contact Olivier at: contact.insectnet [at] gmail [dot] com
Well, it's been fun creating and running InsectNet but now I need a rest from all this. Thank you all for your patronage of InsectNet over the past 18 years!
Best Regards,
Clark Thompson
