I am sad to have to announce that Brother Amnuay Pinratana, ex headmaster of St. Gabriel's College, Bangkok, passed away yesterday, 3rd October, aged 88.
He is well known in entomological circles for his many books on butterflies, moths, beetles, cicadas and dragonflies of Thailand, often written with distinguished co-authors from overseas. A number of insects have been named after him, including Papilio polyctor pinratanai (currently a subspecies of P. bianor) which I co-authored with Tommaso Racheli in 1983. There is also an endemic species of Saturnia from Chiang Mai, Thailand, named after him that I can think of straight away.
Adam.

Wow! Another super nice person gone. I was privileged to spend some time with Brother Pinratana while in Thailand. Super nice and super knowledgeable about insects.
