Very nice!
I'd love to hear how collecting in Vietnam was...how long were you there for, was it difficult (or even necessary) to arrange permits, did you travel to remote areas to collect? etc etc...
Congratulations on having collected some beautiful bugs in their natural habitat ;D

It was a family vacation(lasting 3 and a half week), but i managed to arrange a 3 days trip to Tam Dao only for collecting. I went with a vietnamese entomologist who arranged permit for collecting inside national park. I was told that export permits were not necessary, but i don't know if u really need one. In Tam Dao it was really humid(and hot ofc). 5min walk and i was soaking wet in my own sweat But the experience was nice. I also think it was a plus that my guide was an entomologist. He knew very much about the area and the different species flying there. And also showed us hostplants and larva and stuff he found in jungle. Besides that i went collecting by myself close to the hotel area we stayed at in Danang(Central Vietnam) and Phan Thiet(South Vietnam). The locals where no problem, i think they couldn't care less..They ony smiled and said some stuff in vietnamese..someone even wanted to take a picture with me xD

Hey Wolf, It sounds amazing I am very jealous of you! My dream would be to go collecting somewhere totally unlike my home environment - West Africa, Australia, one of the Japanese Islands...or Vietnam! How did you find a Vietnamese entomologist to assist? (or was this someone you know in your home country?). With regard to getting strange looks from the locals - I find this happens to me when I am collecting at home ;D I guess non-collectors are the same the world over!!!
