I very much doubt if the early stages of G. phidias will tell us very much, if they are ever found. Most of the Leptocircini have very similar early stages. However, I am working on other morphological characters that hopefully may confirm the affinities of G. phidias. It will be a while, but as soon as the research is completed and published I will let everyone know.

To me it looks like a tailed version of Graphium macareus or xenocles. I'm not sure why it would be close to eurypilus

I'm not sure why it would be close to eurypilus That's what everyone used to think, just like everyone used to think P. alexanor is related to P. machaon (it isn't!). You are being fooled by superficial colour pattern similarities, in this case a result of mimicry of Danainae. Wait until the research is published and I'll reveal more. Adam.
