That is really the most beautiful tithonus. I hate it, that I don't have a male. I'm looking for years for a male, without success. And what I have read about the situation in PNG does not sound as there will come new specimens out of PNG the next time. Here my female. It has a little strange pattern and is very small. Hannes Hannes, In a couple of weeks I am visiting a friend who is selling off what has to be one of the best Ornithoptera collections in the UK. Want me to see if he has a male cytherea "spare"? John i did no you living in Ontario thought you are in UK. If you don mind i will like to see your collection one days. Because you and Jaume i think you have one of the most beautyful collection.
I go to send my freind André in Gatineau about 6 time years so i should past one days. In October we have not bad expo in montreal. For the coins i did no that. Think in the futur it will be illegal to keep collection if it keep going like that.

No problem, I would be honored to have you come and see my collection. Do you know Yves Pascal Dion? Gilles Deslisle?
I think some of the best collections are in Japan, Germany, France. Too bad that Japanese do not post their specimens!

The specimen on the e-bay listing is not ssp. cytherea! Many specimens listed on e-bay are misidentified. Had that pair been real cytherea, there would have been a reserve start price of 1000 euros or more.

OMG!!! I hadn't looked at it since I do not collect Ornithoptera. That looks to my untrained eye to be ssp. misresiana Am I correct?
