Dave, Beautiful specimens! What's the country of origin of these? Are they REALLY that rare in nature? (I know they are on dealers lists... ) I saw the one on eBay that was going for silly money - congratulations on getting yourself a bargain! Simon

They are from a small part of South Africa, very hard to get to. I think most of their habitus is National Park now so no collecting, come to think of it not much of RSA is NOT National Park! And yes, they are rare though not worth the price asked for on ebay! Dave

It makes sense that coming from an area where collecting is (presumably) now either prohibited or at the very least restricted would drive the price up...but really? The price the eBay seller wanted! I wonder if anyone had deep enough pockets to bid on the specimen? I know I haven't...
