I was wondering about the future of this butterfly. One web site predicts extinction due to its limited habitat and human population growth. Anyone have recent knowlege?

It seems no-one on here has field experience of benguetana. I'm comparatively near, but have no idea about its status in the wild. All I can say is, if the habitat is still there the butterfly will survive.

My specimen is dated 2006. It says comes from Luzon
Does it fly with P. chikae?

After Tsukada & Nishiyama, Butterflies of the South East Asian Islands, both species flies together in the montane district of
N. Luzon.

I have seen huge stocks of P. benguetanus offered at less than 5USD/each about 10 years ago. So it should be common in its habitat.
