maybe nssp. nr. kaibabensis(I have pair from both sides of Grande Canyon, very different...

I am surprised that no supplements have come out with taxa described since 1982. Lots of new ssp., sp. have been discovered in Indonesia since 1982.

I think that there are 21 ssp., but most, or all were described by German, British entomologists. Seems, Japanese are more in Indonesian region. Germany, for one had colonial territories there, Deutsch Neu Guinea, Neu Pommern, Neu Hannover, hence its called Bismarck Archipelago. However, the ulysses ssp. are all clearly defined and distinct.
