Thanks, Mike, nice to hear from you. Yeah it seems like it, Morrisons skippers were very fresh. I did look for arctics but I didn't have time to get out to the actual greens peak where I think they're more common. I had plenty to do as it was. Might loop back up there in a few days and try again for rhesus and streckeri too. I have found them to be common at the base between the road and the peak as well.

This a nice list, glad you could find some things. Maybe you are just a little early for Polites rhesus? Seems like one of the best places to find them. Did you look for Oeneis uhleri as well?

All of the Amblycheila are A. cylindriformis. I personally collected all but two of them (which I saved from being thrown away). They aren't especially rare in the right habitat. I would love to get a hold of the other species (though I expect the Mexican spp. would prove difficult to obtain) How to you find Amblycheila cylindriformis? I've wanted to go looking for them but never seem to be in the right place at the right time of year.

In unrelated news, Bioquip will increase prices on all its products by 10%… Your not wrong, I checked the prices on a couple of my recent orders and the price was up 5% since August and 10% since a year ago August.

I believe Archon in Luehdorfiini also uses Aristolochia and other species in that tribe use something in Aristolochiaceae. I have heard it said that it is likely due to a papilioniidae ancestor using Aristolochia but I am not sure that is widely accepted or testable.

My copy of Tyler's Swallowtails of North America lists stonecrop (sedum sp.) I caught clodius here at home this summer and we have no bleeding heart, but lots of sedum sp.- Sedum should be the foodplant of smintheus, not clodius.

Mike H, what's the best time of year to get H. crysalus in Colorado? Late July to early August.
