I caught a Papaipema impecuniosa this morning. First pap in a while. Although beat up, it's the first impecuniosa of the year. I have one impecuniosa specimen from last year. I checked the label and,it says 8-Oct-2015!, exactly one year ago.

I don't know how late Papaipema fly in the north or northeast, mostly because my interest in MV lighting is low when it gets cold at night and the diversity is likely to be very poor. I see records into October. Papaipema are the perfect bucket trap target because you don't have to mind a sheet plus they are localized.
I need a better idea of plant diversity and localities before I can target specific Papiapema. I am probably wasting my time in certain spots

I set out 5 light traps on Wednesday night in the Clear Creek area of Bath County, KY. Collected the following Papaipema moths.
Papaipema polymniae Papaipema nebris Papaipema cerussata Papaipema activorens Papaipema necopina Papaipema eupatorii Papaipema marginidens
Not a very good night. Most of these were singletons.
Has not been a good year for Papaipema. Very low numbers and some species not seen. Will be trapping in Pike County Sunday night for Papaipema.
I also collected four Catocala vidua and a single Catocala angusi. All were worn accept a female Catocala vidua.

How do you differentiate between Papaipema eryngii and P. nepheleptena?

got 10 Papaipema specimens a few days ago before the warm spell came to an end. I know I have P. impecuniosa and P. inquaesita, and I believe P. eupatorii, but there are a few more golden variations of impecuniosa and a tiny version of inquaesita I am not sure of. I will post pictures when they get off the board.
