I just spent the last 20 minutes viewing all of the photographs from the fair and another 20 minutes viewing some of the videos. Impressive to say the least! More impressive was the shear number of mounted/prepared specimens. The hours of time required to prepare this beautiful creates and the skill required for the perfect presentation. Absolutely marvelous.
I would love to visit an insect fair and look at all of these beautiful creatures. I would need to win the Lottery to be able to afford some of them.
I would like to see such a fair in Cincinnati, Ohio. I could see the headlines in the Cincinnati Inquirer (Newspaper). UFWS raid Insect Fair in Cincinnati. Thousand of specimens of endanger species confiscated, hundreds arrested for violating the endanger species act and exploiting and trafficking in endangered species.
And directly across the street a Gun Show is in process selling guns to whoever wants them. There is a booth for a Pressure Cooker Company. Another booth next to it is selling Gun Powder by the Barrel. Not even a security guard in site, no back ground checks required.
Ain't it Great!! We live in the land of the free and the home of some to most arrogant and stupid politicians on the Face of the Earth. Considering some of the events recently, sometime Donald Trump make sense, God help us if we elect him or Hillary.
I do not fear guns in the hands of terrorist as much as I do Chemical or Biological Weapons, or even something Nuclear.
There I have said it. I need a Nap.................
I have to agree with you Leroy. We have some ridiculous regs regarding insects here in the US. How and why these laws ever came into existence is beyond me. The people that invent them seem to let things get out of hand, and one regulation spawns dozens more. The fear of federal harassment is why we don't see these kind of insect fairs across the country. As far as I can tell, the only ones I know of are in California.
Thanks for sharing all the wonderful photos and videos. Makes me wish I could attend one sometime, but bringing specimens back here from Germany would be a nightmare if I understand current regulations on this.
