Hi everybody, does anyone know if these brownish dashes on the yellow part can be removed ? I prefered it without ! They appeared when drying the bug. Thanks for your help and advice, Mohamed.  |

If its grease soak it in acetone or ethyl acetate

It looks like the folded wings are visible through the elytra. You could possibly relax the specimen and place a white plastic or similar thin material between wings and elytra. (Dealers do this to some colourful buprestidae and cerambycidae) Alternaively, remove the wings or both...

If its grease soak it in acetone or ethyl acetate How long was it soaked for? sometimes it can take many weeks to degrease in acetone. Ethyl acetate is said to be more effective |

Yes, with stained specimens it can take a number of weeks. Here is a cerambycidae I found tonight, Monochamus galloprovincialis, exhibiting his long horns   |
