Is there a similar, but more common, species? I have a pair that "looks" like that.

Hello Fornasinius aureosparsus it's not common to see for sale but wouldn't say it's rare. I think at least 3-4 are auctioned each year on ebay for the last years. I, for example have this nice male from Cameroon that will auction it on november (just saying in case someone is interested to keep an eye by then, sorry for the little "self-promotion" here : Attachment Deleted Also if you are looking for rare Fornasinius I have right now one male F. klingbeili for auction on ebay (Sorry again fot the self promotion ). This is more rare than aureosparsus I think, although I've seen at least two already auctioned recently. What I have never seen it's Fornasinius higginsi... Regards

Hello 62mm? That's not big... That's huge! I never seen so large aureosparsus... Just few fornassini and russus, I guess because they are more common and it's easier to spot top size specimens. Regards

Hello
Probably more than "how", it's "when" and "where". As far as I know they use the same method they have been using so far for big cetoniinae as goliathus, eudicella, mecynorrhina, etc... Plastic recipents and fruit cocktail bait hanging on high spots of the trees.
Regards
