Yeah, what a simple yet seemingly effective technique, if only I'd known this years earlier. Skippers are my favorite leps and many of the tropical species I collected are only represented by single specimens as they can be hard to find...I'd be interested to know if it works in equatorial Africa.

This technique is hit and miss in the neotropics. On some days, it’s hot, on others it’s a waste of valuable spit. It seems to work best when there are army ants working an area – the skippers are already primed.
