will post some interesting neotropical Satyridae. A group that not many like to collect. The first Picture Shows Oxeochistus leucospilos(Ecuador) I have seen this Satyridae flying most time over 5 meter high in the trees along a river on over 2000m. Robert Attachments:

hi robert, lovely specimens... upon browsing these photo's i see the uncanny likeness of them to our own countries dodonidia helmsii, especially the Corades ulema marianae specimen. although it does make allot of sense if they are in the same family

The place from where these all come(Zentral Ecuador in a Zone between dry and humid mountains within only few km) is so rich on diversity of Butterflies, specialy on Satyridae. I still have some species to spread and determine.

You're right ,Oxeoschistus is not common butterflies in collections I caught this one in Panama in January 2011 during the ascent of the volcano Baru (2200m)... i think a lizard try to catch it before me At the moment i wondered which species it could be (he looked like a papilionidae) ... I had to wait for a long time because he flew very hight So here , Oxeoschistus euriphyle
