I find the whole "bigfoot" issue a huge joke, a good explanation is especially the program that airs on our tv screen on animal planet: finding bigfoot....just how many seasons and they haven't found the big hairy dude yet. they are no closer than when the show first started...its hilarious
to be honest if something like bigfoot did exist, it would be found within the fossil record. such a beast wouldn't go unnoticed in today's world. it's a complete hoax that plays with peoples minds. it's the thrill of the mystery that fuels it along.

Actually, these things HAVE been found in the fossil record. They're called Homo neanderthalensis, Homo erectus, Homo antecessor, etc.

AWESOME Morpho by the way. Is that in your collection? My only possible gynandromorph is a Mexican Bluewing from Texas, a female with a tiny streak of male-like turquoise through her purple bands on the hindwing. Still hoping for a really great gynandro like yours...

hi there, yes you are correct that is 1 of 2 morpho didius gynandromorph's i have from my collection. the other is quite similar actually.
i have always wanted to own a bilateral gynandromorph, and had the chance to get a near perfect bilateral but i ended up choosing the one pictured as i quite liked it.
im always on the lookout for a great gynandromorph as i like collecting them, only problem is they are hard to come by. some of the best gynandromorph's are in personal collections hence rarely see. apart from the few that pop up on ebay every now and then.

No, they are not in the fossil record. There is not a single fossil of an ape (and of course of a hominid either) found in Northamerica. Note also, that in Southamerica you found a great diversity of living monkeys, but no apes.

There is also stories of Cynocephaly in a wide range of ages and cultures of the Old World. Of course none of these reports are true and I don't really get your point therefore.

Furthermore we live in an age where roughly 6% of all humanity, that ever existed in the flow of time, are alive at the very same moment. The average density of humans is roughly 47 per km² and the US is not too far from it with 34.2 per km². Humans have covered and rule most of the land masses, there is no place left to hide, no place where fancy magic is to be expected.

On a side note, you mentioned medieval texts. During these times people had a fair knowledge of the world, but still there was things unexplainable to them. The general idea that then first crossed their mind is to assign these unexplainable things to some entity, animal, that they haven't seen yet. For example trolls. In a world where physics hasn't been formulated yet it was easier to imagine something that could just disappear and become invisible, or in the case of trolls change to stone once it sees sunlight. These texts are nothing that a person living nowadays should take for reality. And going by your mentioning of dragons... there was huge bones scattered all around Europe during the middle ages, what else should you imagine other than a dragon killed by some glorious knight?

Although your figures might be accurate, I should remind you and everyone else, not all of North American territory is so evenly covered. There are indeed vast expanses of wilderness in the Pacific Northwest, Canada, Alaska, and even in the eastern US such as the Appalachian mountains, or the vast swamplands of the deep south. You can drive or hike for hours and not see a single person. Just because there are so many people living together in metropolitan areas, doesn't mean there are that many living on every available acre of land across the continent. I remember traveling from California to Idaho as a child with my family, and there were stretches of wilderness where there was nothing else. That's only one narrow stretch of land going through a vast area. I think there are still plenty of "places to hide".
