Jens, So pretty Arctiids (and so perfect mounting)! Particulary I love your gorgeous Pericallia matronula specimens and Arctia flavia. A question: what are those two specimens under three specimens of Epicallia villica (left one from Spain, right - from Greece)? Is it E.villica, too - but southern european form? Coulld not withstand a temptation of little boasting The last spring I have been so lucky to encounter and collect (for the first time in my life!) these very nice Eucharia festiva (two males)!

Yes it is arctia konewkaii also known as villica ssp angelica. These have white stripe´s not spot´s. That are 2 beauty´s if you ever catch a female. I really want to buy some eggs from you. I not only want it in my collection I want to see them alive. ` p.s. here are some mere pictures of my arctiidea but these need resetting. files.homepagemodules.de/b560348/f89t1125p5887n3.jpgEDIT: the picture was much to large see the link for picture

Hello Jens, Thanks for the reply. Well, as I'm following the taxonomic arrangement of Arctiidae by Dr. Dubatolov (one of the leading specialists on this group), here it is a position of your specimens, of which I asked about: Epicallia villica angelica (Boisduval, 1829) TL: Spanien, nich festgelegt. ?Sudspanien (de Freina, Witt, 1987). OD: Ind. Meth. 1829: 42 ( Chelonia villica angelica). Synonyms: = Bombyx konewkai Freyer, 1831, Neuere Beitr. 1: 6, 79, 137, 178, t. 33, fig. 1, 2. = Euprepia villica sicula Zeller, 1847, Isis 1847: 433. TL: Sicily. = Arctia villica arabum Oberthur, 1910, Et. Lep. comp. 4: 678, t. 53, fig. 447. TL: Algeria. I'd like to ask also about some other specimens. 1) Two leftmost specimens (in a row of four) of Hyphoraia - are they H.testudinaria? Two rightmost ones look like H.aulica2)The bottom row, rightmost 4 specimens - Grammia? The 2 bigger ones - G.virgo, perhaps? Of 2 smaller ones is hard to guess a species for me. The specimens from your another picture (by the link you provided) look like subtropic North American Arctiidae for me. You may want to consult with an excellent online source for ID: North American Moths Photographers Group mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/pinned.php?plate=22&page=3&sort=hBest regardfs, Alex
