I've got a bumper sticker on the back window of my van that says "Official Parking Lot Inspector" with a picture of a couple of beetles on it. A little humor goes a long way while explaining to a law enforcement person what you are doing.

That room reminds me of what mine was like before i stopped smoking.I used to to have a pile of dogends like you to break open and roll up when i ran out of cigarettes(disgusting) If i close my eyes i can almost smell(even taste that room) I will now share a comment i once received. Have you ever thought about getting a pet pig.It will also double up as a air freshener

These are the collected specimens awaiting setting. Some stuff from overseas as well which I got through exchanges with good folks like Dave Rolfe, Miguel Engra, Robert Walk, etc... Attachments:

Not a big set up. A few tupperwares of spare papered specimens and my setting boards in a shelf in a closet
I get everything out on my bedroom table when I do some setting
the rest is on my walls

Lets see... My net to the far left... Some specimens in cookie containers, killing jars, relaxing chamber, setting tools, postage parcels, collecting equipment, etc... And what appears to be a living lucanid in a little box... Mine is a six drawer open faced Cornell cabinet, about seven Schmitt boxs, and a cheap shelving unit mostly full of tupperware boxes of papered stuff, wine boxes of film vials with fluid, incidental collecting equipment, the toolbox I take out into the field, jars, etc. The nets, beat sheets, pitfall trap kit, and stuff like that stays out on the deck with my boots. Eventually I would like to get a scope and light source that hooks to my computer, and much more cabinet space (going to switch to California Academy drawers for my working collection of carabids and LBBs, and keep the "collector-y" tigers in the Cornells). My fluid backlog is huge, I will have a lot to do when I do get the scope outfit and drawer space.
